Qualification | Visiting Scientist PhD in Agriculture Entomology/Agronomy/Soil Science/Horticulture preferably with 2-3 years of experience Senior Scientist/Scientist-Pearl Millet Breeding PhD in genetics and/or plant breeding with 3-5 years post-Graduate breeding experience, with an interest in both basic research and development-oriented on-farm research. Demonstrated interest and experience in international agricultural research, in particular to conduct research to benefit smallholder farmers in West Africa Post-Doctoral Fellow Hold a doctoral degree in Plant Breeding, agronomy, biology, genetics or related discipline obtained preferably within the last three years. Working knowledge of Plant breeding and some experience in seed systems Knowledge of molecular biology and its applications in plant breeding especially marker assisted breeding Demonstrate evidence of scholarly growth with at least one publication in refereed journals. Strong Team Player with Excellent Communication Skills. Scientific Officer-Rythu Kosam Project M.Sc (Agri) / M.Sc (Hort) / M.Sc (Vet) / M.Sc in Biological Sciences preferably with 1-2 years of experience Fluency in English and Telugu will be preferred The candidate should have aptitude and skills to draft reports, papers and communication skills Knowledge and fluency in use of M.S. Office is essential Scientific Officer -Cereal Pathology B.Sc (Agri) / B.Sc in Biological Sciences / Graduate from any stream with essential knowledge of agricultural crops, livestock with first class Proficiency in English and Telugu (written and spoken) Person with flair for field work, group interactions and suitable experience will be preferred Scientific Officer -Cereal Pathology M. Sc. in Plant Pathology with 2-3 years of relevant experience High skill of culturing, maintaining and increasing inoculum of fungal pathogens Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis) Aptitude to work collegially and collaboratively in diverse multicultural environments Communication Officer Masters degree in science communications or similar field 4-5 years of relevant experience as digital writer / editor for science-based content Experience in writing science-based stories and editing scientific articles, reports and publications Scientific Officer-IRRI M.Sc (Ag) and Ph.D in Plant Breeding and genetics 2-3 years experience on germplasm evaluation in breeding trials and rice breeding Knowledge of plant breeding design, trials, data analysis, data and report compilation, seed exchange and coordination Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis) Preference to candidates with knowledge on molecular breeding and marker assisted introgression of QTLs to improve grain yield and other traits Excellent verbal and written English and regional language are necessary Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team Scientific Officer-Socio-Economics Masters degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Development, Rural Development, Economics or related field, with particular interest in quantitative and qualitative analysis primary survey and secondary data and interest in seed systems. 2-3 year of work experience in the field of expertise. Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. Familiarity and experience with household and regional level surveys. Strong analytical skills and ability to process both quantitative as well as qualitative information Excellent interpersonal skills, including gender sensitivity and ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams as well as to develop strong and effective working relationships with partners. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to present coherent and convincing analyses to different audiences. Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural contexts. Good working knowledge of statistical and econometric software packages (esp. SPSS, Stata), experience in data base management, Microsoft packages and electronic communication tools. |
